St. Louis players... where?

Ronnie - I played out of the Cue on Wednesdays for the last year - just quit the bar league in September. I play at Saratoga on Thursdays (in the Masters). I love playing 1p, just never, ever get the chance to anymore. I also play in the in-house 9b league at C&C on Mondays.

PM me and I'm sure we can meet up for some 1p that would make the real 1p players throw up their bad coffee. lol

Are there ever any straight pool or one pocket tournaments? I go to the Cue for league but it's mostly bangers and drinkers; when I play one pocket, I go up to Saratoga Lanes as they've got some 9 footers with pretty good quality tables but only a few, and I only go up with one friend as I don't know anybody else personally who plays one pocket. I'd prefer to go up to Cue and Cushion more but the people I play with typically want to drink a bit while they play. (I've personally never been to Hillsborough, the Break, or Kenny's)

I've spoken in another thread about it to you bmsclayton about playing in the area; I'm getting my game up to feel a bit more comfortable playing some folks (still with considerable weight most likely). Basically I'm getting a bit tired of playing down to bangers in APA league and scoring for four hours; it's fine for a night but it's not improving my game very much at all.

if somebody in the area would get a monthly one pocket tournament started, i'd donate.

ME TOO!!

Psst - there's a new place on the horizon that'll have at least 2 big tables, probably 4 if things go well and will have monthly tournaments. the owner is a huge 1p player/fan, so... if things go well, maybe we'll get one finally. :) scheduled opening is mid-december in north county. i'll post more when i know more.

St Louis Area Pool & Billiards

Midwest Pool Tournament Page -- this page is much larger and much more info and dialogue on regional goings on.

Some corrections - Andy Quinn is @ Red Birds in St Charles off of 94/370 not 270. If you come in and I am there and I don't know you, he will play you even. If you come in, have a Missouri Driver's license and I don't know you, you can get the 8.

ABC Billiards is the ONLY other place in St Charles county that has anything to do with pool that I would walk into. Just saying.

Saratoga on Monday nights is a good hidden spot -- well not anymore.

Some other regional places listed, you need a mask with a double filter to walk into they are so smokey. I'll leave it at that.

Beyond that, you are always welcome as my guest to come out to the house for an invite, watch some football and play some pool, or ping pong or beer pong or gamble when the next deer is going to walk into the backyard. If we like you, we will invite you back --- and you will want to come back.

I think the only smoking rooms listed are Kenny's and Saratoga, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's allowed in Hillsborough. ooh, I think Side Pockets is still smoking too. The Break is technically non-smoking, but once in a while, depending on the crowd, there might be a few.

Yeah, I know several of the guys that play up at Saratoga for Masters (albeit really only by name with a few exceptions).

Hell, if people started a one-pocket tournament every month, I'd be down to participate. STLJohnny, I'll PM you about one pocket in the future.

PS where would this new place you're referring to be, out of curiosity? You've piqued my interest. Edit: Just saw you wrote North County; I'd missed that before. Good that another place is going to open in the area

Im going to check out a lil $5 scotch dub tourney at thr break. We shall see what happens lol

Hillsboro is smoking but isn't bad. Side pockets is a neat place but it is a huge place full of smokers that occasionally play pool. Sometimes you can even see your hand in front of your face there.

Hillsboro is filled with smoke as well. Johnny Neals, the owner, is a great guy but let's all describe the place as it is.
