Open Men's Singles--1st Place Andy Quinn; 13-16th Lars Vardaman & Chuck Rolston
Masters Men's Singles--1st Place Richie Cunningham
Open Scotch Doubles--1st Place Lars Vardaman & Kristin Werner
Women's Master Singles--3rd Place Julia Gabriel
Men's Over 55 Singles--2nd Place Bruce Patton

Open Men's St. Louis still has two teams left in top 8, both in losers side. Women's team got 11th-12th place.

Oh yeah, my team got 17-24th in Men's Team Open and a 'C' player like myself actually cashed in the Men's Open Singles.

Is it somethng in the water? Why is it that you guys from St Louis never miss a ball? Has OldHasBeen been giving you all some instruction? Seriously, though, nice going to all of you. Well played!

Nice job, Watchez. Now that you're a real pool player, never show your face at TM's again! :D

Wow, if that is all it takes to never miss a ball I want one. I will quit playing with the cues I build. If I never miss another ball with a Terbrock I won't need to build cues or lathes or ever work again.

St. Louis rocks

My team from Atlanta, Team 2 Beat, played strong against one of these teams and got our head handed to us. Both Andy and Richie were on that team and, believe it or not, were not the strongest players on the team. Some guy named Joe played fantastic, never missed a ball.
That team was great, and placed only third. Didn't mind losing to such a great team.

Shows you how tough the tournament is to win and why the "once you finish top 16, you can't play in it for a couple of years" rule is a joke.

What I REALLY want to know is...........

Do all these players really play league together somewhere? On the same team? For 8 or more weeks?.................pahlease!!!

Do all of Romano's players REALLY play league together?

Yes We Do!

Hello Roach!

Good Question!

We are all great friends and live close to each other. Sarge, Pisut, Johnson and I have been friends for over 20+years and Jones and Nelson for 15 or more.

They not only play weekly BCA team on a regular basis but on Monday Nights, it's
pool night at my house. Eydie or myself cooks, we either BBQ or make a "family meal of some sorts. The play lasts till all hours of the nights. On some evenings, we have a poker game where others who do not play pool attend.

We play 10 Ball, King Of The Hill, 6 Pocket, partners and a few other games. We usually mix up the games each week, all for "Friendly Wagers". Besides playing pool, we all hang out together, i.e. birthday's, weddings and my annual house BBQ.

Thanks for asking!

Bob

You're welcome. I will have to send an investigator to believe it.

Look forward to confirmation.

Hello Again,

I did mention all. Sarg (Jeff Sergent) Pisut, (Bob Pisut), Johnson, (Vic Johnson), Jones, (Jeff Jones) and Nelson, (John Nelson). All in the first paragraph.

Please investigate and you are welcome to come by and check it out. It's a good time.

Furthermore, a team @BCA tournament only has to consist of players in the same league....not that played on the same team during league.

I do agree the rule is a joke. With St Louis having 2 teams that finished 3 and 4, it is going to be hard to field teams next year in the Open. Like I told Marc Griffin earlier, he needs a division between Open and Masters...not above Masters. Hopefully the BCA & Marc saw what a flop that was and will adjust accordingly.

"Bazooka" Joe Wooford (sp). Fantastic player. Very much the gentleman. I think everyone should be thankful that the 2 St.Louis teams weren't combined !!! Or that Lars V. or Chuck R. weren't involved!!!

Bazooka?? better known as Farmington Joe Woolford (correct spelling). Lars V & Chuck R. along with another strong player Mike W. were on my team and carried us to 17-24th place finish. We lost our two matches 13-9 and 13-11. Respectable....especially since as previoiusly stated they had a C player like myself on their team. Lars & Chuck got 13-16th in the Open Singles and Mike W. got 13-16th last year in Open singles & I believe 3rd place in Open Scotch doubles with his daughter.

About 15 years ago when he and Whitey came through my area to collect there "paychecks", he was known as Bazooka Joe. I believe this was in reference to his strong break. Could have been a bubble gum reference as well. :p On another note. It looks like St. Louis has an awfully strong Master team all ready to go.

Bob, do you think the friendships make the team a better team? Or is it just the best players lumped together that makes the team?

The reason I ask, is my teammates would never get together like you guys do for a normal, fun evening. It's hard enough to get them to simply show up on time for league night, let alone for another reason. And to go to Vegas with money and everything?...ha!...my team can't plan past the next beer, for g_d's sake.

Any suggestions?
