Stan Shuffett Lesson
I took a lesson from Mr. Stan Shuffett in Greensburg, Kentucky. This lesson built on what I had learned previously from Scott Lee.
The basic approach was in complete agreement but each has their own style and course workbook but both used similiar key items including SPF and eye patterns. Of course they are both some of the top teachers in the pool game.
Stan was easy to work with and he based the lesson on my current skill level. This was a foundation couse and we covered fundamentals in details to find minor problems which were causing me to be inconsistent.
Stan had an excellent student manual which we went through in two days at his home playing in his private billiard studio on a good Diamond 9 ft. The table was snug meaning to make a ball you had to make it but the pockets would take balls.
Stan promoted excellent alignment, level cue, straight stroke, slow back to a pause, good follow thru, analyze then up.
It was much easier to be aware of these items now as they are progressive with what I have been working on prior thanks to the earlier Scott Lee lesson last fall.
Various other areas were covered including aiming using the fractional ball and other aiming systems.
He had excellent methods to work on cue ball direction and distance using speed and tip positon, very systematic and repeatable.
He taught the entire shot process from shot selection, sighting the balls (chin lock) and all of the execution steps mentioned above.
I look forward to a jump in my game.
I recommend the course and its priced right $395 for 2 solid days of one on one lessons.
