Standards for reporting the Score

AAAARGGAGAGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't stand it. While reading the brackets for the US Open the scores are written with no regard as to the names on the match.

For example Bill Smith vs. David Jones might be written as 11:5 (with Jones winner) Or it might be written as 11:5 with Jones as the loser.

Am I the only one who thinks that scores should be written as players are listed??

So the score should always be written as the top player-first score : bottom player-second score.

So Smith wins and the score is written as 11:5
Smith loses and the score SHOULD be written as 5:11

Anyone care???

I agree completely John and can't for the life of me figure out why it's done as it is. It's necessary to look at the next bracket to see who advanced in order to determine who won the previous match. But, it's been done this way for quite a while.
