Starkey cue

I was curious about cues with wooden joint pins, how they play, hit, balance etc. Chuck Starkey makes them. I ordered one, it arrived in about a month. It's made from a old Brunswick house cue. Chuck sent me photos of 4 old house cue butts and said pick one. He turned it down and sent me another photo, said if you hate it, I'll use another. End of store, I got a cue with no ferrule, joint collar made from a moose antler and the big wood pin. It plays fantastic. Balance is perfect, hit is very crisp. Chuck uses shafts from recycled house, he guessed mine might have played 10,000 games of pool. Chuck is a great person to do business with, easy to talk to, excellent communicator.
His cues offer great value, wonderful players.

Nicely stated... I've got one with his1/2 x 8 wood pin, no ferrule, carbon fiber pad, wizard M tip... Can you say STIFF... but plays extremely nicely... Breaks like a dream too!

Chuck Starkey is a brilliant cue maker! That's all I can say about him. Maybe the best hitting cue you can buy, that's all. One of the best kept secrets in pool is the Starkey cue.
Yes, and you can break with it too, no need for a separate break cue.
