I have a Brunswick Centennial that has been in storage for the past 20 years. Slate was crated standing on end. I've refinished the table and am starting assembly. I've never leveled a table before but I figured I'd give it a crack and learn something new. Worst case I can hire it out.
So here are my questions/problems
Use of the Starrett Level. I have an 8 inch. Do i set the level directly on the slate or, on top a carpenters level?
I took 9 readings per slate in both length and width of the slate with the Starrett directly on the slate. 18 readings on each slate. It appears that there could be some warping going on. I have deviations of run off in both directions. So then the question is, what can I live with.
What is a good goal for leveling? 1-2 deviations on the Starrett?
I have more questions than this posting has space lol....thanks for any help and or direction.
