Starting A Petition

Starting a petition as a follow up to my post entitled an observation about the game we love. Please feel free to PM me either your forum handles or real names or reply with the info here on the forum and what state you are in and i will post it up and keep updating it. I would love to get something around ten thousand signatures and make copies of this forum and see if we can start a pool tour with some major sponsors like starbucks and pepsi. Nike and reebok could make like a billiard shoe. I mean can you imagine shane van boening when asked what he attributed his win to saying something along the lines of well i have on these real comfy nike billiard shoes it would be absolutely incredible. So i will be number one.

1. Charles Eames (New York)

6 names in the last 18 hrs.

Without posting the formula, at this rate, it's gonna take almost 3 1/2 years to get to 10,000.

You'll need 330 or so a day to finish in a month.

I like where your heart is, but let's not get too disappointed if these goals are not met.

Good luck :D

If you are going to bash it the least you could do is put your name and state in but thank you oh so much for your positivity and optimism.

I think a lot of people on here are missing the point. I am doing this for our community, i went to valley forge this year and it really opened my eyes to how many people are passionate about our sport. If you disagree with what i am doing that is your opinion and you are more than welcomed to it, however i am entitled to mine and i think that what i am doing is the right thing to do. The end result Im hoping will be a very large tournament or tour. Basically anything is possible if you put your mind to it and hey i might be dreaming but you know what. Its a great dream.

Not nay-saying... just a quick question. Let's say you get your 10,000 names... then what? Your plan is to ask a company like Starbucks or Pepsi to start a pool tour? I'm just not sure I understand the plan. Thanks.

In all honesty im not sure what the plan is as of yet but i figure i have time since getting the ten thousand names is the tip of the iceberg and since its taking a while i figure i will have time to think it through however i am very open to any and all suggestions as i am doing this for us the pool playing community so you guys have as much of a right to input on this as i do.

This drums been beat before on many occasions in the past. Just a suggestion, I think in my opinion if you'd like to get somewhere with the powers that be that could lift our sport to the financial levels many of us would like to see it be, you must first show them how it is going to first put more money in their pockets, and make sense of it, like designing a new pair of shoes for some manufacture, a pair of sunglasses that can block out your opponent when playing, a new energy drink that'll wake you up when it looks like you're falling asleep playing, or hell...even a new power pill, that when taken...you can make 5 balls on the break!...But something new, something different...something the money folks would take a look at...then tell you, Sir, I like your style...go out and get me 10,000 names of people that would buy our new product and we'll be interested!!!!!!!!!!...Now that would bring more meaning to your petition, and if you had that in writing from the folks with the money, I'd be willing to bet you'd have your 10,000 names in a heart beat, and KT don't count:D

Names

I have emailed Nike and Reebok, and a couple others about Billiard Shoes previously. I have also emailed ESPN - Classic that I would drop them from the stations I carry if they did not televise Billiards. We, as consumers, need to express our desires for a product.

Great suggestion Glen thank you, i really do apprecaite any and all ideas and comments folks keep em coming along with those names and states and emails.

I agree we need to be more active.
How about a furniture manufacture that can make a chair so comfortable to sit in...I can see the advertizing for it now..."Yeah, I know I'm loosing my match, but it really don't matter, I didn't want to get out of this comfortable chair anyway".......lmao

There are many very easy ways the media could help improve our image. Room owners who care can make a big difference. In bowling (1963) we had father & son leagues, other leagues, tournaments, numerous special events. Scenes from such events can easily be worked in to popular TV shows and movies.
