Starting again after 20 years - where to start, please?

Hello everyone,

after 20+ years I've decided to pick this sport up again. Got a new cue, found a nice pool hall and started going 2x a week. Once I play with a friend and the second time I go and practice. My weakness in the past was draw shots and V (bank shots).
Went to a tournament and played with a pro who mentioned that my stroke could need improvement as he noticed that my draw shot is forcefully stopped instead of letting it go all the way to the chest (or so).

Anyway,
I'd like to ask what are the really good drills to practice overall. I've started with straight stop shots but I wonder what to do more.
Youtube is flooded with tons of drills but not all are beginners friendly which I've learnt the hard way when I tried to do 6 balls in L shape and 2 frozen on each side of the rail.

Any recommendations, please?

Anything you know is good for start is super helpful for me. Thank you kindly

P.s.: I got P3 with Revo 12.4
You're playing twice a week? Once with a friend, and once to practice? It looks like you have a nice cue and shaft. I would advise that you just enjoy playing with your friend. Progression requires way more available time than what it appears you have to dedicate. On the 2nd day, I'd say you're better off playing with opponents and enjoying yourself than doing drills once a week. Best of luck.

Yeah, thats a valid point for sure. It did cross my mind but then I thought that splitting works better for me as I do enjoy being alone 'in the zone' and do drills. Its kinda mental detox as I find it relaxing.
With an opponent its a different game as you socialise etc. but its not as relaxing so split is nicer for me.

How much I'll improve is debatable but at least I can try.

Cue is super nice, probably overkill but super pleased with it. If it lasts as long as the last one then the cost is negligible ;-)

So I did the analysis with Samm and all went well. She complimented me on overall mechanics etc. and said that she can see that I played on high level before. She gave me 1 suggestion to try and 2 tiny tweaks for my stroke but overall she was pleased and didn't have much to change (which was nice and reassuring).

So thank you for the suggestion - I will now work on those little tweaks and I hope that in few months time the result will be there. :)

No, no, it can be cheap and not intrusive. I spent $60 on PoolDawg's video instruction and it helped me---a helluva lot more economical and productive than buying stuff. I told myself I would do the instruction and only then I would buy more stuff.

Dunno if someone (I?) already said it, but I'd say start with fun.

You gotta enjoy it and understand you're gonna laugh, cry and love with the game...for the 2nd time around.
