I started playing again after a few years away. Played my first full day tourney yesterday bout 14 hours of shooting. I placed 2nd and shot well however I had nothing left in my final match. I was sore and tired. My question is what do some of you all do to stay physically we'll both in prep for tournaments as well as what do you do at the tourney to keep your body all together?

Stuff like granola bars or fruit snacks, intermittently throughout the tournament.

Keeps your blood sugar from dropping, but doesn't stuff you so much that you feel bloated.

I think most would do better off jerky (Epic Bars are great) or a Larabar.

RX Bars are also awesome.

There is no quick fix. Make exercise part of your regularly weekly routine. I'm 61 years old and workout in the gym 3-4 times a week, doing a combination of cardio and weight work. I can handle 12+ hour sessions on the table without any problems. These sessions involve gambling, not tournament play, so focus is a must.

Top tip:
You gotta practice like you play.

Cant realistically expect to do it well if you dont do it.

Mary jane and jaegermeister.

This right here is the best advise plus the eating healthy is the best thing you can do.

Concentration and focus are not physical. Endurance training is great but like bb said you have to practice like you play. Build that mental endurance too.

Try to rest in between matches as much as possible. By that I mean stay off your feet. Make sure you bring plenty of pain relievers and healthy foods packed with protein (I.e., nuts, protein bars, etc.).

I usually practice 3-4 hours straight per day before a big tournament to get ready for it. Cardio and weight lifting are probably good habits to get into as well. I find after a long day playing certain joints on my body start to hurt (shoulders, knees) so focus on the areas you find to be your weak points.
