What is the deal with the "broken Z-shaft"? Broken how...still playable?

I took a picture of it for you. it is split sideways and up and down. goes into the shaft as well. i was going to give it to the predator booth at valley forge and see what they could do for me. technically you could hit balls with it, but i wouldnt reccomend it. if you refurbished it it would be worth every penny.

I would imagine a broken shaft is worth its weight in wood. save the collar. cut it off make a jump cue lol
