If a smaller field is there is it possible to raise the races to 9?
I don't think it would be possible. It is advertised as a race to seven and if anybody would complain about changing it the change couldn't be made.

Steel City Tournament Results

A strong field of 32 players and plenty of rail birds were on hand last weekend for Paul's 4th special event tournament. A vote was taken and the matches were extended to race to nine and make the finals a true double elimination. First day action sent home top players like Ryan McCreesh, Manuel Chau, Gary Nolan, Don Steele and local favorite Sy Brown and trimmed the field down to the final eight.

Sundays action started off on the losers side with a nail biter between Matt Clatterbuck and Jerry Slivka. Matt banked in the one ball and ran out to win the match 9-8. Rob Krull ended Adam Smiths hope of winning, while Eddie Abraham beat Danny Barnes and Dennis Hatch beat Ron Beard to advance to the finals on the winners side. Danny Barnes then beat Rob Krull while Matt Clatterbuck handed Ron Beard his second loss.

Matt beat Danny while Eddie and Dennis were battling it out on the winners side. Hatch won 9-7 setting up a great match between Matt and Eddie to determine who would face Dennis in the finals. The match went back and forth hill-hill with Eddie coming out the winner 9-8. The final match was no less exciting with both players at the top of their games. Close match all the way had Eddie on top 8-7. Dry break and Dennis worked out a win and was able to break and run out the final game to close out the victory 9-8.

Payouts for the Tournament:

1st. Dennis Hatch - $1500 + $605 Calcutta
2nd. Eddie Abraham - $1100 + $510 Calcutta
3rd. Matt Clatterbuck - $750 + $305 Calcutta
4th. Danny Barnes - $400 + $150 Calcutta
5th. Rob Krull and Ron Beard $300 each
7th. Adam Smith and Jerry Slivka $200 each
