I wouldn't clean my tip on any carpet out of respect for the room. Would you want someone rubbing chalk into your carpet at home?
Anyway, back to what I consider the great feature of the Wave case. If you load both shafts and butts joint first, you're no longer lining the tubes with chalk. Thanks to the design of the soft tubes, you can still load to capacity, either 2X5 or 3X4 in my case. I clean my shafts with alcohol after every night of use, but I do it after I arrive home. As I've said many times before, If I could fit my Wave interior into my Instroke shell, I'd have the perfect case IMO. Hopefully I can afford to do that someday. Until then, my Wave is my preferred daily case.
