Steve Cook Vs Ronnie?

It would be a good match if Steve Cook could have kept his temper in check and not get into a fistfight with Ronnie A.
Steve was so, ah, intimidating.....

(I never got on his wrong side)

Steve Cook fight? I hung around with him off and on for years and never saw that side of him. Maybe he knew I liked to mix it up and backed off when I was with him. Johnnyt

I only saw them play a couple of times in tournaments. Ronnie would do his thing, Steve would get infuriated and start moping around and making faces, and then he would lose. Ronnie could definitely get under your skin if you were the sensitive type, and Steve was.

Steve did not like Ronnie and would not gamble with him. I heard they played once in Tampa and Steve quit even after TWO games! Wonder why?

Yes, Cookie did have that cross to bear. He had a great one pocket mind and could play the game with anyone. His weakness was he was easily distracted (antenea ears) and could not overcome any type of woofing.
RA and others used to torture him. He fared better in tournaments, where the sharking was somewhat under control, than in gambling for just that reason. Good guy though.
