Sticky Shaft and Hand solution?

When playing 14.1 I find that my shaft and hand become sticky,it causes me not to be able to keep my bridge tight. I wash my hands and its fine for a short time. I have cleaned the shafts and used powder and it is once again temporary. Anybody have a common and sensible remedy. Really don't want to use a glove but will if I have to

The key to your problem is that you use powder. Use a Magic Eraser to clean your shaft well, use one of those micro grit washable sandpapers you can buy for cues (I just use the finest one and ignore the others), use QWax and just clean it off.

I have a lathe at my house and the way I clean and smooth my shaft is:

-Clean shaft with Magic Eraser
-Smooth down with a yellow Q Smooth and then with a very well used 2500 grit piece of sand paper
-Burnish with a piece of leather
-Apply Q Wax to shaft and clean off very well
-Burnish again with a piece of leather

Once I do all this the shaft is actually too smooth (smooth enough that even with really sweaty hands it still glides through my bridge hand), but it stays smooth and non-sticky for a very long time.

Ok...in addition to cleaning the shaft. I know this may sound odd but after cleaning your shaft if you really like it to slide through your hand no matter how you sweat you can use a laundry dryer sheet on your bridge hand and the cue shaft. The effect lasted for me for a full 5 plus hour weekly tournament and my cue smelled downy fresh. Just make sure not to use your grip hand on the sheet or you are guaranteed a slip stroke. This wasn't something I thought up exactly as it was more of a peanut butter and chocolate falling together situation like the old commercials. By the way, I don't do this now but that's due to how well magic erasers clean shafts and to the invention of hand sanitizers. Still doesn't smell as nice as my previous found method.
