still looking for full splice blanks.

Last I checked, Prather was a custom cuemaker and a very well respected one at that.

Agreed. Prather are custom cuemakers as well as suppliers. They are also the only ones in the industry who can provide full splice blanks with sharp even points at both ends (see ian's blank), which is definitely the way to go if you are doing wrapless cues.

white flag i surrender!!

talked to jeff at prather i'm going through them for the first blank. great price and turn around qoute. it's going to probably end up in bob dz's shop. If (big IF) I ever get money from people who owe me the second blank will be a davis and will probably go to mr. mordt.

the Prather blanks have extremely long points and will be different looking if you put a wrap on it.i don't exactly know how to explain it to you,but when you have it in your hand you will know what i mean.they would be fine for a no wrap sneaky looking cue though.as far as Prather being a well respected cuemaker,i am really not sure.i know lots of "cuemakers" use their parts, but i have heard some people knock Prather cues and they do not hold their value very well.as far as Davis, they are sweet, very sweet, underrated maybe yes, underpriced no way.$400 for a blank is by no means cheap.

The prather will be wrapless and the davis wrapped. i've heard prather knocked thats why i thought to avoid them, but alot of people on here come to their defense and convinced me to go with them. On the same token, i've see alot of people on here knock the greats and alot of people praise cuemakers i think suck. I've heard davis' blanks knocked too (uneven points, technology, old fashion). Each to his own. "masonh" is right $400 ain't cheap for a blank, especially after you consider shipping to the maker, two shafts, joint, wrap, adding butt piece, rings?, and inlays?. Do you get a matching butt piece with davis' blanks?
