straight cue?

how do we decide if a cue is straight, what qualifies a cue as straight, what method do we use to decide? i know with enough magnifaction all cues will show some bend. where do we draw the line as to straight or crooked?

It doesn't matter really. I judge straightness by just siting down the cue from the butt end. In all reality, a little warp in the cue isn't going to throw your game off. As long as your tip is in good condition and your stroke is true the balls will fall. It may feel weird with the shaft sliding between your fingers but it's not going to hurt your game. I've gone places without taking my cue and ended up playing with house cues with severe warpage. It feels like crap but I honestly didn't notice any difference in my shot making or position playing abilities.

Ive heard (someone correct me if Im wrong) but if you put the butt end on the rail, and roll the cue, you should see the wobble or lack of easily.

If the shaft is warped really bad you can do that but a lot of times rolling the cue on the table will show a problem with the joint.

At the end of the day the CUSTOMER will decide. One unhappy customer can negate ?????.

If, in my mind, the customer was wrong I stop doing business with them.
