Striking the cue ball

What does a smooth stroke actually feel like?

I'm at a point in my game where I don't care about aim or position. It is important to have aim and positioning ability but I want to know the feeling of striking the cue ball correctly. If you can not strike the cue ball correctly then aiming and position play is not gonna matter.

I have seen when the pros strike the cue ball correctly, they barely hit the cue ball. You can barely hear the cue strike the cue ball and the ball spins so easily around the table.

Players like Dave Daya and Tom Monoski from my Location are perfect examples...Not much video on Tom but you can see how these two strike the ball!!!!

I know I seem repetitive with the last few threads but I am just trying to find my game.

Please help with my request....

if you train properly a great stroke doesn't feel like anything.. for me the only time I notice my stroke is when something goes wrong

The only way I can explain how a smooth stroke feels is smooth with little if any impact. The way you can tell if your smooth stroking the cue ball is the sound the balls make when the cue ball hits them and also the sound they make when they strike the back of pocket. In addition to this when your properly or smooth stroking the cue ball you will only need about half the force you would normally use to get the desired action on the cue ball.

What you have asked is hard to explain, however, when you start doing it you will immediately know it!!

Hope this help.

Patso44...If you really want to learn how to "feel" what a good stroke is, here is the advice of the top instructor in the country...

Look up an SPF Instructor. Stroke is their specialty.

I think you got this same advice from several others too. If, or when you're interested, you know where to find us...
