Well said Ken, too bad it will fall on deaf ears. Southwest would probably have a 15 year wait if they used the 3/8 x 11.9484756353764865976 instead of a 6 year wait. Once a cue is screwed together the joint becomes pretty insignificant.
It hasn't fallen on deaf ears, and I have in no way tried to be an ass to any of you guys, I have always wished all WELL, you have your opinion on cues as I do, proffs in the pudding, guys, my way has worked for more years than you guys have been building cues, but, modern, times, modern ways and thoughts, Why are there so many differant joint sizes, and pins?
If you guys think you have it figured out, answer this, and showme87, [whoever the heck he is?], make fun or be rude about my sucess, and Ken, what have I done to you, not a clue to who either of you guys are, but as we can all see, both of you are here to make fun of me and my cues..I just tell it like I see it, friends...
I have done my best over the years to help all, but with the tone of your post, and the knock from the tone of your post, [ both of you], so long, folks....
all the best to each of you.

Good evening Mr. Bludworth,

Where I come from, if someone asks a question politely and it is a serious question, one expects, at the very least, a simple answer to the question.

It's just the courteous thing to do.

I've asked you a couple of times in this thread about the 5/16 X 18 joint, positives/negatives, yet you have totally ignored my question.

If you don't wish to answer it with even a "I just don't like it" response, I'll take that as your response.

As you are very highly considered, especially on this board, your opinion means a lot to me.

I hope you decide to fill me in.

Thanks so much.

Sorry if I over looked your question, the pin and insert with the 5/16 - 18 and 14, have a total of 2 parts, in my opinon no need for more than it takes.

Some say and feel it makes no differance about sizes and thread counts of pins, I differ from that, the joint MUST flex, a little and also the size and shape of the joint makes a differance in the hit/feel of a cue.

Thank you, sir.

So, in your opinion, having two parts is a problem?

Doesn't the 5/16 X 18 joint flex a bit? I've noticed that those Meuccis with the phenolic rings at the joint, which I don't care for, seem to flex in the joint area way more than a similar cue with a stainless steel joint collar.

In your opinion, if I were to switch from the 5/16 X 18 joint (all my cues and shafts are in that size) to a 3/8 X 10 or a radial pin in cues I might acquire in the future, would there be any real, discernible benefit in terms of hit or performance, other things (shaft, tip) being equal?

I appreciate your telling it like you see it.

Two parts, two things to go astray, one part, only one. As far as changing your cues, not my call, you do what you think is best.

Well sir -

I can tell you what you have done to me. I called and tried to order a cue from you. For some reason, you asked whose cues I owned. I know at the time I had a Hagan, some Gilberts, etc, but similiar to the cues I own now. You spent the next 15 minutes telling me how I must like playing with "pretty" cues" instead of good playing cues. Then the next 15 minutes telling me how little I know about cues an how "all the champions" play with your cues.

IF this helps, I asked if you could make a cue with 5 interlocking circles in the butt. After telling me that is impossible and I was an idiot for even asking such a question.

So after being verbally abused for about 30 hour, you have the nerve to ask if I wanted to order a cue or not?

So I guess I will continue to play with my "pretty cues" and let you keep building those cues for all those champions......

Ken
This so called conversation with me has NEVER HAPPENED, PERIOD. I'm getting old, and do remember I had NO CONVERSATION with anyone, like you say, and no one has ever ask such questions of me, about cues....

I, sir, do not KNOCK ANOTHER CUEMAKER, and for your information, Andy Gilbert is a friend and he builds not only great playing cues, there also pretty....

To back my self, for your information, sir, I, was the founder of the American Cuemaketrs Association, and both me and my late wife were honored at the Super Billiards Expo in Valley forge, Pa..last March], for being the founders, of that fine association.....

If what you say was true, why would I, spend two years of my life """HELPING""", all cuemakers, become known to collectors and players at all levels, and also elevating the """PRICES OF CUES""" for all cue makers, to be able to feed there families better than ever before, selling cues....

No, sir, don't sound like someone who would knock others, just to sell his cues.. Don't think so, and most here who know me, know what I have acomplished in this industry..

BTW, sir, what have you given to our industry, I gave up two years of cue making to HELP ALL CUEMAKERS in the association or not....

QUESTION TO YOU, SIR???????
Would you quit working and have very little income to help all cue makers world wide....for two years plus????? Bet not.....

The rest of my friends and to those who do not know me, and who read this, I'm in no way honking my horn for what I've done, just getting the record straight.....Thanks,,,,

It never HAPPENED.
Bet all you want.
It's as said by my good friend Joey Gold, these boards are not worth the time and trouble.....

I was the founder of both the, ASK THE CUEMAKER, and also the CUE MACHINERY,sections here, doing my best to help those who needed the help, and I, sir, have helped a lot of folks. So, in my opinion, it was worth it, with or without knockers.................

I want to thank all who have suported me, and those who needed help, for some who would like to continue with my help, please send a private e-mail to me,
poolcues@hctc.net

I, elect to do no more for this fourm or others....

I'm Hopefull this crap will come to an end....about time....

Bludworth pin

I had the same thing happen to me years ago on an old Bludworth sneaky pete with collars. I called him and he took care of it pretty quickly and I think it was only about $20. Good deal. I would give it to whoever he thinks highly of.
