Stroke motion during follow through

Mr. Avlon,

I respectfully disagree with some of your opinions as you have difinitively stated them. Please see the blue above.

im not an instructor
but your points in blue seem logical
dont know what to beleive anymore??
(i think i have a j piston stroke fwiw ie pendulum back swing to contact then elbow drop and more straight thru than tip down after contact on many shots)

I'm not quite sure how you arrived at that conclusion. You may not be doing what you think you are. See the 'Figured it out' thread.

Edit: I re-read you post. Are you saying that your tip is going straight through the ball & NOT arching down toward the table more than at contact?

I call BS on that statement Mike. The last two were me and Mark Wilson...and neither one of us said you HAVE to do things our way. What we did was point out to you one method (basically the same method...a pendulum stroke) that works for many players. You're the one who "bucked" the advice, and constantly complained that it doesn't work...at least for you. Fine! Find some other way, since there are many choices. Personally, I don't think you'll find a way that will work well for you, because you never go out and "test" yourself. You can be Champion of the World on your home table...but until you go out and challenge better players, one-on-one, you will likely continue to struggle, just as you have for the past decade! Sorry to seem like heaping on you, but this is truth...at least from my perspective.
