Strong final 16 at the women 8ball World champ

I bet Chezka didn't want to win the final rack like that, but she'll definitely take it. It was very reminiscent of last year when she was running out for the World 8-ball title only to blunder on the hill, and Jasmin coming back to snatch it away from her. But lady luck was definitely on Chezka's side this year.

Chezka is a 3x World Champion. She has now cemented herself as one of the all-time greats. With her talent we could always argue that she could be even better, but c'mon now. She has the same number of World titles as Kelly Fisher, GY Kim, Han Yu, Liu Sasha, and Rublien Amit (all have 3). Only Allison Fisher has more with 4.

The question really was whether the CB hit the rail or stopped short of it after contacting the 6 ball. I'm glad they did a video review instead of relying only on the ref's judgment (which was initially ruled a foul). Very tough break for Kelly Fisher. But she was very gracious in defeat...a real class act.

And props to Savannah Easton for such a deep run into the semi-finals. She has so much poise for such a young age. Didn't seem the pressure got to her at all. Very impressed.

I still have no idea why actual pool players think 8 ball is boring.

If the conditions don't make it an absolute break and run fest, then 8 ball is the most enjoyable game to watch for me. The IPT days were absolute peak spectator viewing...IMO. Nothing beats watching Efren weave through a complicated rack of 8 ball.

did chezka even miss a ball? i missed part after 6-5 but saw final rack. at 6-5 neither had missed a ball, or played safe

I even find it interesting to watch the men play 8 ball, especially on bar tables as they often have to negotiate break outs- they still usually get out, but it is interesting to see how they do it
 
I prefer watching 8 ball in general. Much more variety in pattern and method for how a player attacks the rack. Rotation, by definition, removes that aspect since you have to play the balls in order, it can become very obvious how many racks are going to play out after the break. Not so with 8 ball and I like see the path the pros choose to take to run out the rack.
 
I am not a fan of Bar room 8 ball. If there is written structured rules i'll play. To many rule changes and whiney little B's because i can break and run out
 
Anyone know why Fu Ziaofang didn't play?

Funny how Tkach's game has dropped off a cliff since she dumped Fedor.
