Stunning Chuck Starkey Maple Curly & Kao Wood With Wooden Pin and Ivory Joint/Ferrule
Hey, Guys,
I am selling a cue made by Chuck Starkey (an acknowledged cue maker within the AZ community - you can see plenty of positive reviews of his cues in the forum).
The handle of the cue is made from creamy curly maple, while the forearm and buttsleeve are made from intense koa wood. It also has an ivory ferrule (12.75), ivory joint and ivory butterfly on the butt sleeve. As it becomes obvious from the photos the maple wood, the koa wood, the black elements and the ivory complement each other very well and the cue looks awesome!
Not only that she is a pretty one but she also hits 'em hard! An interesting feature of the cue is the solid wooden pin (rare to find) which in combination with the ivory ferrule (12.75) and ivory joint results in a very crisp and firm hit (especially with a hard tip is like a machine gun :thumbup
Moreover, it also gives relatively low deflection (also depending on the tip).
The cue is very well preserved. The tips have been changed diligently, so that there is no damage to the ivory ferrule. To potential buyers, I will point out that there is a minor lift (matter of millemeters) at the base of the shaft but it doesn't affect the game and part of the ivory joint is very slightly discoloured (instead of pure white).
This kind of cue is quite difficult to find, considering the combination of maple and kao woods plus the wooden pin and ivory joint/ferrule and if you are wondering why I am selling it - currently I am playing more british pool (different cues) and don't really use it anymore. The cue comes with a free case (on the picture).
If you are interested or have any offers and questions, give me a shout.
Best Regards,
Boris
