Sub-rail Extensions vs. Pocket shimming

Donny,

Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread, but the photobucket slideshow does not seem to be available, and I will be attempting to communicate to a German table mechanic this process tomorrow night.. Do you have another link where this "versus" slideshow is still available?

If anyone else has the same, please give a link. My German is not good enough to communicate technical specs without pictures...

Thanks,

Shortbus Russ

Look through Jack Zimmerman’s (username jzimmerman ) threads and posts in the ask a table mechanic sub forum. Can’t remember if his photo albums were photobucket or flicker. He shared a couple projects with extensive pics. There’s a few good threads where users shared their projects as well.

Russ, just curious what table you decided to go with?

Going with a Gold Crown III or IV.. They take Artemis Intercontinental #66 K55 rails, so it should play close to a Diamond if I can get the mechanic to do a decent subrail extension.. I figure even a mediocre subrail extension is better than double/triple shims..

Oh, And either a 10 foot (preferred) or 12 foot snooker table in the basement for stroke training..

Hi Russ, I no longer have that photobucket account. Sorry about that. I haven't done table work in years and don't really have photo's. I do have an old facebook account that might have what your looking for. Check facebook for sdbilliards. Thanks, Donny
