I am putting up my Sugartree ebony sneaky for sale again.
The butt has developed a lift near the joint (see last pic below).
Due to the warp, the tip leaves the table by the thickness of 2 credit cards when the shaft is attached. I can take videos of this if anyone needs.
I asked a couple of cuemakers on the board and they said that the joint could be refaced for something like $15 to make the tip stay true but I would rather not mess with it as the cue plays exactly as it should as it is even with the roll in the butt. The shaft sights perfectly straight.
Other than the roll, there’s a small surface scratch near one of the points which doesn’t go through the finish and which is not visible unless you look closely.
I don’t really know how to price this so would take offers. If you like a hit on the very firm side with the crisp sound and feel that any ST owners will attest to, you’ll like this cue.
Here're the specs:
Cue was made and delivered to me last June.
4 richly-figured Gaboon ebony points spliced into maple, a full 13.0mm shaft with Eric's custom taper and linen-based phenolic ferrule, 3/8x10 pin, and a balance point at 10" from the joint. Weight is a natural 19 oz with no weight bolt.
The sneaky is made from one of Eric's custom blanks and not a house cue conversion.
The joint is white linen phenolic with a single black ring at A,B and a white linen ring above the butt-cap. Points are not dead even but very close.
I requested for the cue to have forward balance at 19 oz and a ferrule a tad softer than glass melamine. The shaft has a couple of sugar marks (as can be seen in last pic) but has nice straight grain and a good hit.
