Suggestions on moving wood/shop

I am buying a house with room to put the shop in the garage. Does any one have any suggestions for moving wood out of the old shop to the new one. I have a bunch of shafts that are almost done. Should I seal them all before I move anything. All wood not just shafts for that matter. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas and Happy New year...

Will there be a radical change in climate where you're going? If the overall humidity is similar then you shouldn't have a problem.

The humidity is... I am not sure. Didn't check the place I am moving. Nothing radical like from tropical to desert. Change in elevation of about 400 ' up climate is the same a little colder at the house I guess.

John,
Then I don't see it as a big concern. I'd let the woods settle into their new home for a while so they get used to their new environment before embarking on any new projects. I'd think a week or two should do it.

Thanks for the input. I have to get heat in the garage first. But moving in the middle of winter is gonna suck.

Direct sunlight might be more of a concern than humidity. So I would suggest putting it all in boxes to protect it from the sun during the move. Other than that I would not worry about it. Make sure your heat and air source in the new garage does not blow directly on the wood either.

Don't you seal your shafts when they're about finished anyway?
I do.
I don't seal them until they are at pre finish. I leave them bare until then. I tried sealing between cuts and all i can see from that is a waste of sealer. In the winter I don't do much for dehumidification unless we get rain in December like now.

I dip everything I cut in Nelsonite every time I cut it. It might be overkill but I don't care.

Good Cuemaking,
