First time I have been to the Expo in years, was not a fan of the new location, seems like it was due to cost of the venue, there were no where the number of vendors, all the big names were there and a few of the high end builders, Got to shake hands with Darrell Appleton and Jayson Shaw, Dan Dishaw did an excellent job of putting a tip on my cue, but the overall event was a bit of a disappointment, upon some reflection I realize that it shows the state of pool today, great players, some of the best equipment ever in the sport, but pool isn't a video game, you can't play it on your phone, in hindsight I wish I had gone over and shook the hand of every player that was competing in the TAP league junior division, it was great to see the excitement in their faces, the same excitement that players who come to this forum have, should of shook the hands of the parents who cared enough to take their kids there and support them, maybe it wasn't such a disappointment after all.

I was also there and since this is the first one I have been to, I don't have any way to compare it to past years. I was only there on Saturday so, unless you're playing in one of the events or in the cash room, I can see where being there multiple days can be a waste of time.
All that said, my fiance' and I had a great time and we are already planning to go back next year!

I`ve been going for over 20 plus yrs. It was alot different at the old location(but that location is now a casino) so I`m sure that`s why they moved it to different location. There is not as many vendors as there was 15-20 yrs ago, but I look forward to this event each & every year. I took my wife along again this year & we always like running into old friends & meeting some of the pros, just to say hi & good luck at the event. I have some buddies that play in the amateur event & always like watching them play as well. Over all I`m glad they still put this event on & look forward to going each & every year.
Didn't know about the Casino, thanks for correcting me, I just started playing 3 months ago after 10years away, I will probably donate to the amateur tournament next year, there are those who say I played in the tournament and those who say I could win that tournament but never play, at least I can say I competed
In the action room we have the same old scuffers playing sets for cash. Every year there's less big action. Kiamco was to play Hennessy, but the backer didn't like it. Think he'd beat him before.

It's bar table pool on cement floors....so it's humbling and painful. Weather was so nice, felt like I blew a nice weekend home. I'm getting too old to play 12 hours plus for days on end.

I went for the first time since 2012. I donated 50 bucks playing ten dollar 9 ball with Kirkwood immediately upon entering the action room. Totally worth it to see that wizardry in person, I’ve been a fan of his game for years. Cool as a cucumber too. I also set up a group lesson with Kid Delicious at Fusco’s room when I was down there because he’s been an idol of mine as well since I started playing in 2008. I can’t say enough great things about this lesson. He showed me and my friends some nifty stroke shots that come up often in 9 ball and regaled us with road stories. That lesson alone was worth the trip and we drove 7 hrs from Vermont. As for the expo, if you’re looking to see and buy cues then it’s the place to be but after a few laps you’re kinda looking at the same Q claws over and over. Food was rough but Wawa was right around the corner. Entire body felt like it was run over by a truck after 3 days due to concrete floors and just overall walking around for about 14 hours each day. I’m still reeling from the expo. I’d totally go again but not necessarily every year.

They had carpets under the tables in the main rooms so was not too bad for playing. The action room was all concrete, but I did like the fact they had quite a few tables where the weaker players were just shooting for fun. Being there till 3-6 AM at over 50 took a toll on my legs hehe. My son wanted to hang out and see the matches and look for people to play with.
I did my best showing at the Open, 3rd round, the warmup was eh, won first match then played a hispanic pro and only got two games out of two sets. My son won his warmup bracket and won a few of the Open minis, won a gambling set, got a few good deals on cues, we had a nice time.
