Superpro layered tips

I personally use Everest tips. At the local pool hall most players do not want to spend the money for an Everest, but they want to try a layered tip. Has anyone used/played with the Superpro layered tip. Any input is appreciated....

Superpro is a very hard tip and is better suited for breaking/jumping.
I would recommend a tiger emerald at $3.40 each or a wizard medium at around $7.

If you like a hard tip try it. I use a Super Pro on a sneaky for a breaker and sometimes I shoot a game with it. It plays just fine, altho a hard tip isn't my preference.

I use them on my playing cues. It is a hard tip, doesn't miscue much at all, and holds it shape and chalk fairly well. Not made any more, so don't know that I'd want to use it as a first layered tip. If they like them, you may not be able to find them anymore.

The tiger emerald is a good medium layered tip that is inexpensive as well as the wizard.

(btw..not a cue maker, and probably shouldn't answer in this section...but what the hell I use superpro's)

i havent heard about this so im curious to know when they stopped making superpros? is there a reason why?

Just what two different suppliers told me the last time I was buying tips. May not be true, but both of them carry the tips and told me they can't get any more.

As far as I know they either went out of business or people quit importing them. They are on e-bay possibly because he is having trouble selling out his supply especially at that price. I bought a box of 50 of them last year for 15.00 just to use as break tips.

I bought about 100 of them off of another cue maker a few years ago for around $25. I also use them as break tips. Nice alternative to phenolic yet still very hard, and many people seem to really like them for breaking. I've heard of some de-lamination issues from others, but any problems I have experienced were on a very small a scale. If I've had It happen It couldn't have been more then 1 or 2 times. The batch I still have some of now trims very easily, and I get a really good clean cut with the razor. Wish all tips installed that easily.

I believe it Dave. I gave a couple to the local cue maker/repairman and he built a jump stick just for the Pro. He like them. I find I have better cue ball control with breaking than I ever did with a phenolic.

I have linen ferrule and super pro on My personal jump cue. It's just a jumper I made from a valley bar cue that was too skinny for a conversion. Basically just something that was free to me and useless except to make Myself a jump cue from. So nothing too special about It. I am not much of a jumper Myself, I'll almost always kick instead, so I'm not highly skilled at It, but It still jumps very well for me. Great control on long jumps, I've pocketed far more when it counted then not, but I need to play with the weight to see if i can get more elevation on the close up jump shots.

I can jump with my playing cue with a superpro on it. Not real short jumps, but longer ones are pretty easy to do with this tip on a full cue.

Have the samarsa (spelling may be wrong) tip on my break/jump. Love how it jumps balls, get very good draw on a jump when I want it. Not sure how I like it as a break tip yet.

ebay has superpro, cuemaker03 has them still, koinkid on az has them as well. I put them on by hand, and haven't had any delaminate on me.

I was turned onto Super Pros by QBilder. I use them to play with and they are great. Having said that, I have recently turned to Milk Duds that I have been experimenting with.

If I was going to use a layered tip it would definitely be a Super Pro. While it is hard it is actually forgiving on mis-hits. If you do a search for Super Pros on the website you will see plenty of reviews.

I love'em and they are on my playing cues. I bought a couple of boxes for my lifetime supply. ;)
