One of the many issues with pool is how money trumps the desire to prove you are the better man. I pretty much only play when I can gamble with someone but I always do it against people who are better so I can prove I can beat them first & foremost, the money is just an added bonus.

In the book he also claims to have beat a local player where I live, when in fact he got drilled. I don't think I have ever met a road player that didn't say he got jarred, it happens but somethimes it was just an excuse when they lose.
I almost never opened this thread and would have forever thought SVB flaked out. Glad I opened it. Mods should fix it.
I played this tournament this weekend. Shane was there all weekend. Jesse backed out and never returned any phone calls from John Stitch or the people there from Jacoby. No one ever found out why. We were told Shane was going to be there anyway playing with some local friends.

I personally went to the event sunday and spoke with John (TD) about this, as I was seeing a lot of rumors starting, and wanted to get the true information on the subject.
I was personally told by the TD. a close friend of the TD was backing Jesse, and the TD had the cash in his pocket for this event! Shane was staking himself. there was a room comped for Jesse also!
and as of late sunday he still had not heard any word from Jesse. Lets wait for Jesse to speak as of what happened, (if he wishes) and not jump to conclusions!
Has anybody heard from Jesse? If I was a friend of his I would be worried about him. Has anybody checked on the guy? 
Smoking really good weed with someone isn't the definition of jarring someone.
SVB played singles and teams. And it was only 15 minute drive for him to be there.
Ironically, Jesse had a good shot. Shane wasn't playing the greatest this weekend. took 4th in the singles, and I think his team did very bad in the main tournament. Then they chopped the hard luck with another team.
He occasionally posts on here (action420) so maybe he will sign on and say what happened. One comment I heard was there was a disagreement on the rack being used i.e. Shane wanted the magic rack, Jesse did not. There is a lot of speculation and comments about what people think happened, but only Jesse and possibly Shane if he spoke to Jesse could say for sure. I was eager to watch this and had a bet down so I am curious on what happened as well.
On the DUAL stream Saturday night starting at about 8pm will be Shane Van Boening vs Jesse Bowman. There has been much discussion as to why Jesse might not play this match. I hope it happens. He's really fun to watch.
