SVB in action...Iowa State Tourney

Last night SVB was playing Jamie Fenton giving him the last 4 playing alt. break, race to 9 for 3 hundy. Jamie won the first 2 sets and then Shane won the next 2. I'm not sure if they played a 5th set or not. I think they are going to play again tonight though. I've also heard that Shane may match up with Chad Vilmont..Hope so! Would be great to sweat....I'll try to give a report later.

i've seen some weird things happen but i don't know if shane or anybody beats chad that way. should be very interesting.

Which way? I don't think that SVB is giving Chad that same game. If he is, I'm all in $.
 
Is Bowman and J Johnson not there? How about Kacharo or Jaime Baraks i will take any of the above over Fenton not taking anything away from him he is a great player. How is everything else going down there did SVB get his new cue from Diveny

i heard jesse is there already and that baraks will be there today. I assume he is playing in the pro am. josh is there too and lost 2 sets giving fenton the six. fenton ended up 3 sets winner in the game with svb and they called it quits at 530am on thursday morning.

I do not know about last night but fenton was supposed to play shannon shroeder with fenton giving up the last 3. the odds are 3-1 that jamie will break something this weekend:D

dustin gunia double dipped somphet thousak from des moines for the masters nine ball tourney. both sets went hill hill. they will both be moved up to the elite list next year.

the elite tourney starts tonight. $4000 added. get the money while you can as that is a lot of money to a few players.

the elite list is the worst thing to happen to iowa pool ever. just because we have pro level players doesnt mean they should not be allowed in the masters event. in a few years winning the masters will be hollow.

every year the top 2 in 8-9 ball move up. in a few years all the good players will be in the elite level but once again only a couple can compete with the crew from the qc.

I say open the masters back up and when the boys from the QC get beat the winner will have won something.

The $4000 that is added to the elite division could make the payouts better in the other events. How many players are in the elite field? the list only has 15-20. I just think the money could be better served in the biggest fields and if the best players win, they deserve it.

FWIW I was on the original elite list, petitioned to get off and havent played the last 2 years for personal reasons.

I would like to see chad or baraks play svb on the bar box as both of them have been hitting more balls than jesse from what I hear. lets face it those 4 guys plays SOOOO much better than everybody else in the field that anything less than top 4 will be a major upset.

James Gamble?

Does James gamble? Heard he only plays in tournaments. Seen him play in the bar table tourneys down here and he and Chad always swept up pretty well.
 
Good post Mike im lost on one thing how could Johnson give fenton the 6 and then fenton offers Shannon the last 3, Fenton must have been real confident because i would bet the barn on Shannon there. As far as the elite tourney its a joke like you said the QC area should have there own tourney i mean if you would leave them in the masters they would never loose they rotate through winners Chad V would have the best shot from outside the qc area. I cant be there either and im only 30 min away that sucks:D :D

yeah jamie didnt know how shannon played. we havent seen him play since he moved to chicago. last 3 isnt much if youre hitting them good. it doesnt matter. jamie thought he would try it out and see what would happen. also shannon asked for the last 3 is what i was told. the line on jamie is he will take the worst of a game just to say he played and won.

baraks will gamble, he just doesnt much. tough to get good action when you play that good. he just likes his odds in tourneys better and some of the stuff you have to put up with to match up just turns him off.

i have no problem letting the qc guys play. when somebody steps up to beat them you have done something. the masters is getting to be an empty victory and will be worse in the coming years. might as well call it the level 3 open.:)
 
Thanks for setting me straight Mike! Last night Shane and Jesse went over to Millertime and played some 1-hole, 5 ahead for 2.5 dimes. Shane got the dough. I heard the score was 9-4.

Mike, you still got time to make it to the Pro-am!!! :p

sorry its jens time to go. I have to cover her open house tomorrow and sunday. it is parade of homes for spring. kinda a big deal.. that is why I missed last year too. sucks but we are going to vegas so that will make up for it.

Bowman hasent been checkin the forums lately:D Shanes 1 hole game has got sick he has been playing alot with one of the best in the world Cliff J. I heard Bowman has been playing alot of poker instead of hittin balls, granite he has the most pure talent out of any one in the world in pool playing Shane right now isnt the right move. About 6 years back Bowman used to dominate Shane in Dakota in the big tourneys down there but Shane is a beast right now but i will say i will lay all my loot on the box if bowman locked himself in millertime for a month straight his natural ability is that good. Just my 2 cents

ps. I forgot to mention that when they played at Big Dogs Jesse has not shot in over a month just had a new born and been playing alot of cards still put on a hell of a show between the two besides safetys they only missed 3 balls in 53 games thats Sick

From what I heard they played AGAIN, and Jessie won!! All he did was hit balls at Millertime for a few hours before hand!! You are dead right on this one!! The Kid will always be a contender!!
 
Jesse and Shane played again for 5k, 5 ahead even 1 pkt.

Jesse said Shane won 2 games, Shane would not play after that.

Jamie ended up 5th-6th in the Pro-am.
