SVB shouldn’t be allowed to turn hearing aids off?

it has to be allowed but still if you are shutting out all or most all noise you are also shutting out your opponent calling something to you.

so as long as its made known nothing wrong with it.

your opponent calling something to you.
When it's my turn you be quiet. It's unsportsmanlike to shout out while I am down on a shot.
It can be well intended. Well rare but have had my opponent interject to tell me I was shooting the wrong ball. While well intended it's unsportsmanlike. NO COACHING!

it could be like he just made a foul and didnt see it and was getting ready to go to shoot the next shot and you needed to call it out before it was too late.

in a magor event He should be able to hear the referee call or the clock bips
if he does with the aid off than it's OK

I've seen players with ear buds while playing. this should be forbidden, it might be just music or noise cancelation, but it could also be instruction by phone.
Actually, the reverse applies. With modern micro-electronics, anyone wearing a ‘hearing aid’ device could be utilizing an undetectable receiver.

The South Dakota Kid hasn’t responded to this thread yet……I guess he didn’t hear about……😎
What if Shane shows up without his hearing aids? Are they going to tell him to go home and get his hearing aids? Are they going to tell him what volume his hearing aids have to be set at?
Deaf people can hear better than those blind to common sense 😏 - that’s the real handy cap. The “Hall of Fame” pool player isn’t going to get “stuck” explaining it to people who are blind to it. 😎

Reminds me of how many racecar drivers tried to pooh-pooh some of the accomplishments of Danica Patrick, saying that she had an unfair advantage because she weighed less than the rest of them. Get over it!
Best part was it was Tony Stewart of all people. Maybe instead of complaining try eating a salad and going for a walk, Tony...
