Sorry I don’t understand this. Who is Francis?
It could be argued that in absolute silence you can perform better,What does that have to do with anything?
Fedor is a stand up guy, I highly doubt he was being malicious. He was probably just being competitive and thinking Shane has an advantage, which kind of makes sense. If you aren’t distracted by a noisy crowd you should be able to concentrate better. Although I think Shane could run a rack with a mariachi band playing next to him.Just listened to the Fedor -Rogan podcast.
Fedor said SVB shouldn’t be allowed to turn his hearing aids off. What do you all think?
I completely disagree, SVB should be allowed to play in his natural physical state. I found that statement rather insulting to SVB Niel’s is blind in one eye, maybe he should be forced to have a mechanical device that makes his other eye work, or someone who is missing a finger should be forced to have a prosthetic on whilst playing.
I think the statement was rude and I’m also not convinced « normal hearing players « would play better in complete silence, If I play with complete noise cancelling earbuds, I hate not being able to hear the noise feedback from the balls. Either way I think his statement was wrong, going to an even more extreme example, if a guy had a back deformity that keeps him in the perfect pool position would we force him to do something about it?
I like Fedor but can’t agree with his statement
Can it be argued that being able to hear can make one perform better? It could be argued that in absolute silence you can perform better,
You would lose money.I haven't listened to the podcast yet but I would bet money this is being taken out of context. Fake news so to speak.
Reminds me of how many racecar drivers tried to pooh-pooh some of the accomplishments of Danica Patrick, saying that she had an unfair advantage because she weighed less than the rest of them. Get over it!this thread might just get the 'Dumpsterfire of the Year' award. people have been talking/arguing/whining about this hearing-aid shit for eons. give it a fkng rest. any player that complains is just a whining biach looking for an out because they can't win.
Marshall carried the nickname Specks because of his coke bottle bottom lenses. His offer was to play without his glasses. As long as the other player wore them.Should nearsighted people be REQUIRED to wear their eyeglasses/contacts during play?
Seems like Fedor is a class guy. I haven't seen the clip so whether he was joking or not, I can't tell. I wouldn't criticize him without seeing the conversation.Just listened to the Fedor -Rogan podcast.

By getting distracted by noise..?That theory would need explaining...Can it be argued that being able to hear can make one perform better?
I honestly tried to stop coming up with excuses. If someone asks me why I missed or says something like I threw the ball I just say "I addressed that shot incorrectly." 9 times out of 10 it's true.Yeah you’re probably right about that but some people with ADD are able to intense hyperfocus (is that a word) when the game or something they like engages them.
My bigger point is that there’s nothing honorable about crying that someone else’s handicap turns out to be their advantage.
The real champions figure out a way to get into the zone more than most and being in the zone doesn’t guarantee a win either. Plenty of players look for shortcuts: headphones, earplugs, booze, drugs. But at the end of the day, the ones that get there are the ones who deal with the distractions and still find a way to perform.
If Shane’s deafness is a distraction for others it’s just an excuse. Like I said earlier if you looking for an excuse they are everywhere - they’re easier to find than finding the zone.
First mistake is listening/watching Rogan who is the consummate assclown.Just listened to the Fedor -Rogan podcast.

I was recently accused of whiney. My reply was, "I don't whine, I moan."....Whiney butts
