If the balls spread well, it makes the safety harder to play for the player at the table.
Since this format is not about running out, I think Corey would do well with his soft break, touch, and strategy.
This would bring Efren back to the top as well.

Yes. Sounds stupid as hell when you say it out loud. On one of the earlier matches was the first time i saw this. I was like, "WTF are they playing?" In the chat they made it pretty clear their reasons. The players are getting paid either way so they don't really care unless there's big side-money. I can't picture too many wanting to gamble this way unless they have a crazy stakehorse.

I had the best players in the country in my pool hall for what you'd think is a trivial amount.....and I'm sure I could pay them as much to come to a barbecue at the house.

As I was poking around Sharks FB page to confirm the final score of SVB/Biado...I stumbled upon one BCA Hall of Famer's opinion on the format. I guess the Rocket has a 'weak mental game' too...

Agree. It is good fun like circus exhibition an experiment and cannot be taken seriously. cos every other 10 ball tournament play the usual rules.
It can only be taken seriously if every other 10 ball tournament follow these same rules cos then all players would be "equally" conditioned/acclimatised to play this way

Now the question is did Rodney watch more than 3 consecutive racks before making his post? He’s such a fast player, I can’t imagine him having the patience to watch this format, the way it’s broadcast.

When his turn to play comes up, he might fall asleep in his chair during the long breaks *every single rack*, and with no fans watching to pump him up.
