I'm in search of info on Shane's Break/Jump Cue (Make, Model #, Specs., best place to buy, etc.). It appears to be a Cuetec and I am wondering if it is a "special" cue just for him or is it available to everyone.

I was fortunate to be sitting in the front row of the 10-Ball Final in Reno and couldn't help but notice the way his Break Cue shattered Rack after Rack.

HAHAHA, Oh if only I could play with a cuetec. Then I would break like Shane. This may sound like im being rude but boy if buying everyone elses equipment made my game better Id be giving Earl, Efren and Johnny the seven.
In other words dont waste your money on a cuetec buy a real break cue, develope fundamentals and technique then worry about what to break with. By the time your ready you wont want that cuetec anymore.

Johnny and Shane both have amazing talent which allows them to play with anyhting. Ask anyone on here that plays at a high level, A player or better and they will probably agree with me that know one should be able to shoot the way these guys do with their equipment.

Last words would be to do some research or start a poll but dont expect to break like Shane no matter what you buy.

Rude pretty much sums this up.

I kind of agree but will say it a little different. I think if your shopping for a break cue I've played with a handful better that the Cuetec (not sure the exact one Shane is using but I have played a couple). If money is a factor, nothing wrong picking the Cuetec up. But I think Shane could blow a rack up with likely anything. IMO, if I was buying a break cue and staying under $200 I would get the a Poison or McDermott.

i agree. i love mcdermott but my brother recently picked up one of those poison vx2.9 break/jumps with the phenolic tip and it is VERY nice.

I've been playing with both quite a bit and havent decided which I like better. I might jump a little better with the Poison.

I should have know better than to ask a simple question ...

Apparently it is not acceptable to ask for information pertaining to equipment employed by famous players. It won't happen again, at least by me (on this forum).

I no longer participate on the Non-Pool Related Forum since numerous responders are prone to Flaming every post ..... BUT ..... I had no idea that I would receive the same treatment on this Forum.

I believe Shane's break cue is a stock cuetec break cue model with some slight taper and wieght modifications.

i believe he is using the cuetec wct break cue, which costs less than $150. but again, i think svb's break is more of a sign of his technique than the cue. before the cuetec sponsorship, he just used his playing cue to break.

Im sorry if you think I was flaming you. I was jsut being honest. Im very sorry for being rude. This forum needs your perticipation and one borderline rude post shouldnt push you away.

Again Iv bought every aiming system cue enhancment and piece of billiard technology I can afford.

Some of it works some of it doesnt but in the end it is your game that will create results not your tool.

Its the indian not the arrow.

Sorry!!!

I get the point that you dont like Cuetec equitment. So whats a 'real break cue'? Never mind. I always thought the point of sponsoring a great player was good advertising to sell your product. I didnt think that this automaticly means the they mass produce a lousy product. I have not played with cuetec much and am not sure how the new ones are, but i dont think it can be that bad with such great players behind them. What about Nike golf clubs? Are they a low level club with a big name behind them? I am not sure this has always been the case, but i would like to think that these sponsored players actualy use the equipment from their sponsor and not some custom made jobie with a sticker on it. People like the idea of having the same equipment as a pro. If the pro wants a custom alteration, then i think they should customize it the way they like and sell it as a new model. Thats my 2 cents. To the OP, If you find out what model, post it up and let us know. Also, for my own curiosity, Do those sponsored by Cuetec play with stock Cuetec shafts? Do those sponsored by Predator play with stock predator shafts? Did Tiger really play with Nike????? We as consumers should have the right to know.

Yep, and with those sorts of comments coming from someone who has to advertise to the entire forum that he is a "sponsored player" right under his name, maybe the sponsor should consider if he is the voice they want associated with their product or idea.

I mean, come on, who cares? There are pro players on here with big name equipment sponsors that don't do that. Put it in your signature line, add a logo in your signature, that's all that is needed, get over it....

Apparently the company "Registered user" needs to start compensating me ASAP or I am going to start trashing their image.

I shoot with a Schon, but am thrilled to death Cuetec is around and makes the horrible break cue that they do. Idiots, they had better start raising prices and making a better quality cue so less people will buy them or they are in BIG TROUBLE!!!

not sure about El Tigre, but I know his wife, or Ex wife played with stock Nike irons......they are solid, but will slice thru the back window of an Escalade at times...

I love the reponses of some of you snooty people that think it is demeaning to play with a cuetec. After Shane got his sponsorship with cuetec, I was curious and bought one with their R360 shaft. I didn't like the tip much (too soft) but that was easily remedied replacing it with a moori medium. But, other than that, it plays as good as any of my cues with predator shafts. And, since it is an inexpensive cue, I don't mind tossing it in the car when going on some of my business trips. I've made more money with that cue in the past six months than any other cue I've got. In fact, recently in Asheville, NC, I overheard the guy I busted telling one of his friends "How good can he be? He's using a cuetec." If you haven't tried one, I wouldn't be too quick to knock it.

Again I apologize, I didnt mean to seam rash, so to help.

I HAVNT tried the cue that shane breaks with. He does have better form stroke and pattern play then me.

I have played with many cuetecs and I have palyed with many top of the line pros who DONT like cuetec. Honestly they USED to produce high quality low end cues. This being what there company wanted. By producing high quality low end cues they became the fore front company for the market majority. Most players dont want to spend 300-500 on a break cue or break jump cue. So companys like scorpion and cuetec produce high quality low end cues to supply this part of the consumer market. It just so happens that this is probably 70 plus percent of pool players.

Custom cue's can be tailered to a T for you and your style of cue desiered. You can change tappers weigths and balances to an unmatched accuracy. You can alter how the cue feels to fit you. You cant do this with CUETEC'S and their competition. Players like Johnny and Shane are very fortuanite becouse their sponsors are very wealthy. They will gladly play with a production cue form any of the sponsors since they get payed very well for this. Not but a year ago or so I remember Shane playing with his Joss and a shaft that had a coller atleast an 1/8th incher bigger then the butt joint. LOL tallk about playing with anything. Cuetec amy make MUCH better cues now but I doubt it.

I dont mean to step on toes and honestly could have let this thread die before I came out and apologized then got crusified.

Again I apologize.

If I can help in choosing what I think is a good break cue let me know. Id be glad to offer my knowledge.

To start I like light cues around 17 ounces with liptus shafts (purple heart a close second) to break with. Woddy woodworth makes them for around $250 and I think for the price they are hard to beat.

So to finish my post I would like to personally apologize to...

For upsetting you with my rude flaming stuck up comments. It was never my intention. I had just come off my ChazDillon thread and probably wasnt the happyiest. I should have offerd my help and not my attitude.

I have been controversal on this forum with my posts but I have always had a good upstanding reputation.
