Hey Louis,
Are you still playing with your SW cue, if not What type of cue are you playing with. Anyways I heard a story about your SW cue. I heard that you got upset and sold your SW cue and case, and then some years later one of your friends ran across the SW and bought it back and sent it to you. Is that true is that just a really good pool hall story. Now im in Iraq right now and I heard that story all the way over here. So I was just wondering

South West cue

I just saw Louis in Reno and he is playing with his plain South West. Tony Chohan has also gone back to playing with his old South West.

That story is absolutely true and actually quite funny how it came about. When I was about 20, I was going through a frustrating time where no matter what I did I just couldn't seem to beat anyone. After a bad match and in a fit of rage I offered my SW, case and break cue to the highest bidder. So for a $500 bill I walked out of the pool room and swore I would never play again. (Never heard a pool player say that one before I'm sure :rolleyes: ) About a week later I went and got a new cue and was back to playing.

Within the last couple of years a good friend of mine picked up the cue for $600. He recognized it as my old cue and offered it back to me for what he paid for it.

So for the time being I have been playing with it but I just got new cue from Tiger that I really like but just need some time to get used to it before I take it into competition.

It's amazing that the grapevine is stretching all the way to Iraq now! Be safe out there. We want you and the rest of our troops out of there and back home as soon as possible. :)

Dana Bufalo put up a picture of me with the cue under the threat titled "good luck at turning stone". Not much to look at. No inlays and light ring work. I think the wood is called Alvis.
 
Hey Louis.
What type of shaft are you using. I just watched the turning stone video of you and Lee playing and It looked like you were playing with a different shaft than the SW shaft. Anyways that video was a really good video to watch. Louis was down 12-2 and then broke and ran 5 racks straight like he was walking in the park.

Yes, Dave Whitsell made that shaft for me. I didn't bother with having him match up the rings. It's a conventional shaft, not a low deflection.
