SW SALES

Biloxi Boy

Man With A Golden Arm
I am interested in the experiences of SW cue owners who have sold, or tried to sell, their cues. The good, the bad, the ugly. Do SW sell cues easily? Difficulties experienced? Average time on market? Price? Whatever you care to share. Experiences of friends are also welcomed.

First it was cue export #'s now this. Are you writing a book or what? Are you looking for a SW? Why does any of this really matter? Look, SW's generally sell fast if priced fairly. Older ones, pre-date, sell fastest and bring the most money. Used cue sales can't be generalized like this as every seller/buyer interaction is different. Still wondering what this info is going to provide. You ask strange questions so i just asked you one.

Garczar, be cool, ese. If you must know, I am curious, very curous. I am curious about many things -- for instance, what did certain AZB members and their significant others do in bed last night. Sadly, my wife has broken me of making such inquiries, she says such questions are "inappropriate", and I am now very limited in what I can ask about out loud. On the other hand, my imagination suffers from no such restraints.

And, yes, you found me out -- I am writing a book -- but it requires no research.

When it comes to inquiring about the bedroom stuff you just have to make it sound like its something else like "was there any action" or "did you put any bait out to catch anything"?? You know, phrase like that and you should be good. Let me know how it works out for ya. :ROFLMAO:
Years ago I was helping a good friend and his wife move into a new house, when it was time to move the bedroom I asked why the head board was bolted to the wall. (It wasn't but it made for good laughs)

Are you asking because you want to flip one?

Why do you care about other peoples interests? Worry about yourself.

and does hit like a monster

Ferrari, Porsche
Large price differential and, for the largest part, different group of buyers. Bespoke guns and custom golf clubs might be good for comparison on price, not sure about the guns -- do not know many pool players toting Purdeys.

I would argue that SW cues are pretty darn bespoke, and the Ferrari of the cue world

i was lucky enough to tumble to the wonderful world of sw cues in the late 80''s, however, responding to your open ended thread is difficult because of countless variables

if you post specific questions i'll do my best to answer them

Thank you for your kind offer, If I was writing a book about SWs, I'd take you upon it.

Doesn’t really take near as long to get most Rolex models, but maybe a SS Daytona could get up to multiple years, if ever. But that’s a pretty different scenario since each “list” is managed by the individual ADs.

There are some similar-ish waits in other hobbies that involve custom built products. I once waited 10 years for a custom pocket knife from Reese Bose. Recently waited almost 6 years for a King of Tone guitar pedal. Pretty sure there are some custom knife and guitar builders that have long waits today. SW is one of the longest I’ve heard of though.

I’m coming up on 10 years on the SW list now. Around the 8.5 year mark I was offered a Satin to tide me over (I had noted that I was interest in one with them), so that was nice and finally gave me the chance to try a SW cue. No clue how much longer it’ll be until I get to place my order but that’s okay, not like it cost me any money to get on the list.

Right, the players I know lean more toward Mossberg 500s and Remington 870s.

I am just about to list this 1972 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta for sale (not kidding).

I refer to it as the Southwest Cue of Ferraris. (okay, am kidding about that)

And to your question, there is always an enthusiatic market for SW cues but all of the usual factors apply such as price condition, rArity etc etc
