Swanie Tourney?

Santos won. Ian Costello took 2nd. Jung and Aragon in 3rd and 4th.

Our very own Jimmy Mendoza took 7th place. Nice job Jimmy.

Thanks Mike. What a contrast of players. Santos won ~$40K last year; Ian (from back east) ~$5K; Aragon (wheelchair champ) ~$1K; and Marshall Jung (who has a day job) ~$500.

Thanks, Mike. I wish I hadn't played so poorly in my last match. I missed enough balls that match to last me a while! ;) I really stunk the place up with that one! It was a fun weekend anyway, though. Gaslamp is a pretty nice place in the Gaslamp district (go figure) of San Diego. It was announced that College billiards has been sold, but the current owner of both Gaslamp and College said that if the new owner doesn't want to continue having the Swanee tournament the way it is now (one day at Gaslamp and one day at College), he will just host the whole thing himself at Gaslamp.

Is Gaslamp the place that has the bar downstairs and the pool tables upstairs? I think I worked a WPBA tournament there, and played in a McDermott tour there back in like 1994 or so. I remember lots of brick walls?

Yeah, that's it. But they must have made some changes because there are pool tables downstairs as well as upstairs (not as many as upstairs though), and in addition to the bar downstairs, there is also one upstairs.
