You have great taste, it's also my favorite of the D cues. After visiting Jim and getting a tour of his home/shop, I never thought of these earlier McDermotts as production cues. It was a 3 or 4 man business each person doing the job he was best suited for. These earlier cues not only look great they also play great!

I like these ones you can actually call cues. I think the production built cues of todays mcdermott are a far cry from what they built their name on. Alot like Muecci
 
Very True

It is true these older cues have real character. Quality materials, workmanship and the older growth maple add a lot to their appeal among players and collectors alike.
