Switching from glasses to contacts

I as a rule wear contact lenses, recently I had a problem with one eye that forced me to go back to my glasses for several weeks.. at first when wearing my glasses my angles were WAY!!! off but playing through it I can now shoot "Almost" as well as I did before.

This week I am allowed to begin wearing my contacts again. the holiday bye weeks are over and I only have 5 days to get used to my contacts before league starts.

Has anyone else been in this kind of situation ??

Is it easier to go back to the contacts... or should I stay with the less than perfect shooting I get with the glasses because I am more used to it?

Will it take the same amount of time to get used to my contacts again??

Should I just eat a bad week to get back to my better shooting quicker??

Contacts ....

It is easier to adjust to contacts than to go back to glasses. What type of contacts do you wear? Soft, hard?

The Acuvue Oaysis lens are good ones. I went from hard lenses, which I had worn since 18 (about 38 years total) to soft lenses a year ago last December, my vision improved from 20/40 with hard lenses, best they could do, to 20/25. I have astigmatism front and back of each eye and scarred corneas, and I just had my eyes checked last month, and my astigmatism has 'improved'. Not to mention, I can't even feel the soft lenses in my eye most of the time. I turn 60 in a little over 2 weeks, so my eyes are not as moist as they used to be, but these soft lenses are nice.

I use the oaysis as well great lenses... toss em out and put in fresh every month..

I am wondering if 5 days is enough to get back to where I was or at least back to better than with the glasses.

Just put your contacts in and go practice. If you do two hours of good practice, your eyes will make the adjustments needed. No need to panic.

yeah i wouldnt worry, there shouldnt be any problems with your actual eyes. the only thing is it may feel strange not having the physical frames resting on your face so you just need to get used to that for a couple of hours.

but there shouldnt really be much adjustment required. hit some balls for an hour or two!

Don't sweat it, I had almost the same problem. Had an eye infection so I couldn't wear my contacts until I kick the infection, only problem was that there was a 5,000.00 added tourney we were going to that weekend. My eye infection cleared up about 4-5 hours before I had to shoot, I just popped in my contacts and it was immediatley back to normal

I use to wear bifocals, both glasses and contacts and I knew it was having a negative outcome on my game, mostly on the long shots. I sprang for lasik and it was the best money I ever spent, if its at all possible, you should consider it.

Contacts take little adjustment because there is no distortion (they move with your eyes). Glasses require you to look through the center of the lens so you have to turn your head instead.

I had laser surgery 8 years ago and it was one of the best things I've ever done.
