I am recovering my olhausen table. It is an oversize 8' table. It was installed 2 years ago and the job was butchered.
I have recovered two tables before and although they were not as nice as the work I see pictures of here, they were better than the work I have been able to get done locally.
I have owned 3 tables each installed new by the dealers (terrible jobs twice - the third job (nice - done by a mechanic who has since retired). I had two of the tables recovered and got bad work both times.
Any way, I am going to take it slow and tackle this job myself. I read everthing I can but have not been able to get the answer to this question. What do you use to remove bees wax from the joint if you want to switch to bondo for joint filler.
I tried scraping followed by light sanding and although most of the wax is gone the seam remains shiny and smooth and I am afraid the bondo will not bond.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
