Absolutely gorgeous. A Barry Szamboti cue is the essence of a pool cue.
I hope you're going to play with that cue and not hide it away. Barry's cues are awesome and this is a prime example. Congrats!
I see you moved hope you like Zardos !

i second both those statements. Barry's cues are constructed for a long life of solid, consistent play and just like a fine car, do not deserve to be kept in the "garage". :)

mix & match

so i took this one down to the pool hall yesterday ...

barry had suggested i try the shafts that came with the plain maple on this cue ...

now, i adjust pretty quickly to cues so am not big on switching shafts around ...

anyway, it's the chinese new year here so i figured the tables would be empty so why not...

i fit the original shafts on the 4 pointer and threw some balls out .. the cue felt as it should... smooth, effortless and perfectly balanced ..

then i did the same with the plain maple and it's original shafts - different specs on thses shafts ... this was like switching to the sports suspension .. much firmer - sharper - extra juice ... hmmmmmmm.....

ok, so now for the mix and match ... new shafts on the 4 pointer ... and .. hang on... this was interesting !

now i had precision, and the extra juice but a whole new feeling in terms of the feedback .. here was a whole different suspension set up ...

less edge and more comfort with no sacrifice on enhanced performance ...

could it be ?

a new benchmark altogether ?

and the journey continues :)

life is good !
