With all this talk about cue prices, it got me wondering how accurate you can predict what this cue will go for. Weighing the market value, the Justis case, the condition of the stick, and experience of watching or selling on e-bay.

What will this stick sell for?

My guess is $3750. Cue is well-played, likely needs a refinish, and nice to have the letter from Barry. Not sure that a Szamboti buyer would pay extra for the nice Justis case. I would have broken them up and sold them separately. Cue looks legit, but seller has little feedback and the pics aren't so great, so this could make potential bidders somewhat leery.

I am not a dealer,collector,or a player in the auction,with no obvious quallifacations my guess is $3400.00. I do not like the 1.22 and the 59".

My guess is reserve at $3k and final sale price at $3550. I have to agree with breaking the cue and case into different auctions.
 
As a general rule of selling, always break up cue and case unless the case is a special made one for that particular cue, i.e. some Whitten's.

My guess is that the cue and case, together, will go for over $3500.
Then the buyer will turn around and sell the case.

Well thought out answer, especially this part:

This is where I think the key for the final price will be determined. As they say, presentation is everything. The guy selling this cue should have cleaned the cue up, especially the shafts and had more pictures with greater detail. The lead-in statement could have been much better also.
 
I often wonder how much of the early bidding is from people who have no intention (and no means) of buying the cue. They just like the idea of bidding on a Szamboti.

You might be right .. although sometimes I bid low just to have the item tracked in "Items I'm bidding on".

On the low end of your scale, I would consider it a steal with enough for a refinish.

Has the paypal stuff as a payment option.
If you are sure it is a scam, you should report it to have the auction pulled.
Hopefully no one will be caught.

Says the location is Riverton, WY and Paypal is listed.

Where do you get the wire transfer info?
 
$3450, but after selling the Justis for $300-350, he'll have less into it. Not a bad price, but also not the greatest Szamboti you would find. Like a Searing, Hercek, Ginacue, etc., any Szamboti is still a Szamboti and you'll like what you get.

Barry Szamboti to ask him about authenticating the cue should I buy it, he noted talking to another buyer for the same cue and he filled me in with this information. Its not first hand but just as good. AS we all know or should, if a deal looks too good to be true, it usually is!!
So not a scam but high potential. and high likelihood the auction will be pulled.

Funny how this cue resembles the Barry cue that created a huge debate on another thread. The only difference (besides being used) is that this one has the Bushka rings.

So Barry could not confirm or deny if the cue was one of his?

He said that this cue would be, if I remember correctly..about 2400 or so?
If indeed it was his, Id say from the pics, likely 99.9%

This auction looks like a SCAM.....
I spoke to this guy right after the start of the auction.....
He quoted me a price, I said fine.. Told me Western Union to the UK??????????
He wouldn't end the auction until he received my money....What a joke...

Barry called me and let me know other people were offered the cue after me, and asked to send money.... I hope this guy has a couple of these????
