Szamboti on ebay

Hi, wanted to get some opinions. The fancy Szamboti on ebay is of course a great cue. I heard through the grapevine one shaft may not roll straight, the wrap is not original and the cue has been refinished by an unknown. Since this is purchase from an individual vs a reputable dealer, does anyone have opinions on these comments related to purchase price?

Abe Lincoln used a axe. It is on diplay in a museum. Thru the years because of time the handle was replaced and then the axe head was replaced. Is it still the axe that Abe used?

The only thing that I have to say about it is.......... The $11 G's that the 19(at the time of this writing) buyers have bid "speaks" volumes! And it still has 5 days left on the auction.

true the cue has 11g in bids but for a serious collector these are valid points.the cue in original condition and not worked on by say barry is not hte same as having someone put a crummy finish on this masterpiece and the condition of the cue is very important as far as straightness, what about the nose of the cue,if the shaft wasnt mentioned then what else was missed?????

It Dont Matter If Ya Can Get Berry To Restore The Cue. Theres A Lotta Stupid Poeple Out There Whowill Spend Big Money On The Cue But They Know Berry Will Prolly Restore The Cue. If Hes Dead I Think It Aint Such A Good Deal And Nobody Else Think It Either.

Being the cue collecting/sales business, Ive ran across many other collectors/dealers. Looking at the list of bidders, I see some serious high end cue collectors/resalers bidding on the cue... I count 4 people on that list that I have dealt with before and know their 'stuff'.

Seller ended the auction early because the cue is "no longer for sale". Must have sold it privately.

Thanks for your thoughts guys, I have a couple of Gus Cues heard this one went for over 16k, not that that is a lot for one like this but it may be a lot for a cue that is questionable, not original and from an unkown seller, not that is isn't a true Gus, it is, but the rest of the potential issues make it a questionable sale, I am sure it will show up on someone's site, for sale.

Thanks for the feedback and input. Z
