Table change?

I have had a 8 foot olhausen for awhile now and its a great table. But, most all of the tournaments and all of the leagues are played on bar boxes in my area. I am thinking of trading in my 8 foot table for a typical bar box. There are 2 good reasons for this,

1. My room is a little on the small side and a Bar table would fit better.
2. I would be practicing on the same size table that i would play on in competition.

Cons,

What do you think?

There will be transaction costs associated with buying/selling/trading. Will those costs be worth it to you to make the switch? Generally, I'm for leaving well enough alone. But, if you think that practicing on the same table you compete on will be worth the cost and effort, then go for it.

I'd personally just stand pat, but it's up to you.

FWIW, I had a conversation with one of the nation's top barbox players last year, and he said he ONLY practices on big tables, never on barboxes.

With respect, this is a STUPID idea.

Sure, you can play on an exact replica of the table you might play on later. However, the bigger the practice table (in comparison to the play table) the easier the play table appears--and in many cases, IS. This goes double if your home table has tight pockets and the play table has loose pockets.
