Pulled and stretched cloth to the max.... ( somonis 860 ) and a week later the cloth seems to be somewhat loose. What is up with that?
Could I have over-stretched the cloth to tight??? I was told that you can't over-stretch.:eek:

You did not over stretch it, It is how you stretched it. Where did you start and did you stretch from end to end or more side to side?

Let me guess, you spray glued the cloth and slate, then stretched the cloth as tight as you could get it...then a week later the cloth comes loose, but you think it's the cloth...and not the glue you used? If this be the case....your glue didn't hold:eek:

loose cloth

I started with a very clean surface...then arrainged the cloth on the table as needed...then started with some staples at one end in the middle of the short rail then... pulled toward one side then pulled toward the other side then pulled longways (straight) and stapled in the middle again so its pulled straight. And so on... I was always told YOU CAN'T NEVER PULL YOUR CLOTH TOO TIGHT!!! IS THAT TRUE??

The table still plays fast though. But if you push on the cloth with some pressure it will wave-up in front of your fingers.

I heard that there is a type of glue that you can put on entire slate so the cloth cannot stretch back? Is that true and if so, what kind of glue?

Like I said the table still plays fast so, should I even worry about it?

my main goal was that I pulled hard both long ways first then, side to side.

What is the humidity in the room your table is in? If u can get traction of the cloth with your hand then your hand is wet with sweat or the cloth is moistened from the humid air..if the air is dry and is your hand and your getting a lot of slack by pressing, it's most likely the cloth was just not stretched Just rite'-

If moisture is in the cloth it can be removed, I just hope you did not use wax at slate seam..if you did,do not listen to my suggestion....you can use a air dryer or a iron to get the moisture out'-be sure you use the simonis X1 to get all of the chalk dust out of cloth first'.. did the rail cloth loosen up?+ Run your finger on the bottom side of the cushion from pocket to pocket pressing on the cloth and feel if the cloth ripples?...
-let us know what the humidity level is in your table room.
Thx
Have a good day
