Table cloth suggestions? 860? 760? Other?

I would have posted this in the mechanics forum, but I'm also interested in the non-mechanic pool player opinions...

I'm about to start setting up an 8-footer I recently acquired. It's made by All-American Recreation (American Classics). Nothing special, but I'm hoping to upgrade it substantially with cloth/balls/rails. I play all kinds of games, a lot of bank pool, 8ball/9ball, some one pocket. I'm used to relatively fast cloth and big tables (9 and 10 footers, usually). But, I'm certainly open to suggestions!

That said... I'm wondering what type of cloth would match well with this table... I know a lot of it is personal preference, so... Please give me your opinions and reasoning...what would you put on such a table? Simonis 760? 860? Something else?

I used Simonis 860 for 8 years on my 9 footer. I had table/mechanic install Championship 30/30 about 5 months ago. The 30/30 is suppose to last longer. It plays a little fast for a month or two and then plays about like 860. I have no problem with any of them.

FWIW - I have a GC with 760 on it. I don't play THAT much on the table so the cloth is still pretty new even though it has been on the table a while, and I find it just about right for 9-ball and 14.1.

Ironically, the hall where I play sometimes at lunch has what I believe to be 860, but it is pretty worn and 'slick'. I find that table plays much faster than my 760, and the balls seem to throw more there too. I miss a ton of shots there that I believe I am hitting right and would go at my table at home.

Bottom line, is figure out where you are going to play in tournaments or gamble, and try to replicate that environment as closely as possible on your home table. Other than that it really doesnt matter.

I have 860 and wouldn't trade it for anything else. Rails, I like Artemis. For balls, I like the Brunswick Centennials too - great combination.

Almost every pro event is played with 860. I don't really think 760 was made with 8 footers in mind, or with games like 8/9 ball in mind. 860 is plenty fast. I can't see why you would want your cloth to play faster than 860.
