Table height?

I have never measured any table's height....I could not even tell you what the height "standard" should be.

I have never had any problems adjusting to a table's height....But then again I am not qiute 5'10" so a low table has never bothered me.

The WPA specs call for the playing surface to be 29 1/4" to 31" high.
I am 6'4" with a bad back so 31" for me.

Well...I'm 6'1" and my wife is 5'2"! I have definately played on tables that are to low but never one that is to high. How much does a higher table effect your ability to reach across table? Don't want anyone slipping and falling!

I think for most people a slightly higher table is desirable and doesn't affect reach or table view very much if at all. I like tournament tables to be at a height of 31 inches but really like having extended practice sessions on tables that are 32" to 33". If it was up to a vote for changing the standards I would definitely try to get the range moving it up a little to 30.5" to 32".
