Is it true a fluorescent light will fade the felt?

I was told this the other day and never heard it before. But this will be my first table so I never had a need to buy a light before.

Here's a VERY scientific link that describes what you're asking....

To narrow it down, no, not in any measurable terms will flourescent lighting fade your "felt" within a negotiable timeframe.

Felt is a non-woven cloth that becomes solid by pressing stuff together.

Using UV lights will sap the dyes in weaved wool cloth, which is what decent table coverings are made of. But, we're not using UV lights, and hopefully not felt.

Bottom line simple answer to your question......"No sir it won't"

i believe i heard this also. I heard Simonis has done something to prevent this with their tourmanet blue 860 . I could be wrong, I'm not an expert on cloth

Not that I've ever heard.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't figure it would but had to ask before buying a light.
