If anyone were to actually get into making a list of problems with pool tables and their fixes, it would be way to long to read, and take way to long to write and post.

Please expound on what tables are the closest to perfect and what tables you can bring to perfect the easiest. I have to assume it's out of these 4 tables; Diamonds, Brunswick Anniversaries, Centennials, GC's 1-5 but there may be more. For example AMC made a GC knockoff for a while... was it any good?. Also, what tables had/have the best slate? I assume that was Italian slate? I know Brunswick Brunstone is not your favorite for example. Did Olhausen use good slate?
 
I only consider commercial tables worthwhile working on as they have a lot of similarities as in the rails and frames. Any table can be fixed up better than the manufacturer built them, questions are how much fixing, and is it worthwhile. No pool table built today is without its flaws, and that depends on which tables you're talking about. So, i put all pool tables into two categories, 1) I'll work on them, 2) not worth my time. I'm not going to spend the rest of the day explaining all the pro's and con's of different pool tables, that would take to long.

It's just that this these lists tend to go off in every direction.

But I'm Sure That Will Not Happen With This Group.

There is a difference between asking a question and trying to get years & years of knowledge out of the mechanics in this forum....

People pay Billiard Mechanics to work for them because they know all of the things you want to know.

Donny is more than capable of taking care of your GC4....

Notice, no one has even attempted to answer your "list for each table" request......

As far as the other Lists.... here are some suggestions.....

Seven Brunswicks
Five Diamond
12 Lists Total

A Separate Post for Each List.

One Person for each List to compile the information for that one type.

I started with the GCIV because that's what I have waiting to be put together.

I just wanted to be sure all is well before I put it together.

I know every one of these tables inside and out and could build such a list, but answer this question first....what's in it for me, and how do i get reimbursed for my time?

To be a knowledgeable consumer you'd first half to care enough to research what you're buying, and I'm sorry buy 99% of consumers nust spend the money, and a lot of it is on junk. Second, where do you propose finding all the info you're asking for seeings how I'm the one who's provided most of the knowledge here on AZB you're researching, and that is nothing compared to the detailed list of each individual pool table mentioned that i could put together. But like i asked already, what's in it for me seeinvs how most buyers wouldn't read it anyway, let alone pay for that info.

It sounds to me like you have a good idea of what the issues are. Are you trying to install the table yourself?

This Discussion was about how a Table Owner would be able to Tell the Difference Between Real Table Mechanics and the Hacks.
