Table Questions in general

I am sure that this has been discussed, but I didn't see what I was looking for in search.

I am getting close to buying a table and I have designed my building to accommodate a 9' table. Just for my education, on a 9' table is the dimension from rail to rail 9' exact or does it vary.

Also, what would be considered a tight pocket and are there tables that are made with tight pockets.

Thanks

Diamond is the only table mfg'r that I know of that you can ask for tighter than 4 1/2" corner pockets, as they've now made that option available on their CNC machine during production. On a 9ft table, the playing surface from inside of cushion to inside of cushion is 50"x100"...rails on GC's and Diamond's are between 6 1/2" to 7" wide per rail from the nose of the cushion to the outside edge of the rail.

Buy the best you can manage. Buy the best now and you won't regret it later.

I could have added a 1000 to the table I bought and have got a Diamond, why didn't I, sure it would have hurt a little and I would have had to wait a few more months.

I should have. But the table I have is good, but it's not a Diamond and the difference is very notable.

I apologize for this being my first post. Just don't let the money stop you from getting a great table vs a make do table, even if it is a good table.

Thanks for the advice. I also like gold crowns. I got a few weeks till my building is done. Hope I still have enough for the table

Get the Diamond and fugettaboutit! The table will outlive you, your grandkids, their grandkids... Etc.;)
