Table time during tournaments

What is your feeling or how does it work in your room? Most of the rooms here don't charge table time to the players during the day of the tournament. So if you play in the local 9ball tour event you don't pay table time once out of the tournament for the rest of the day unless you are gambling or there are paying customers waiting. How do you handle that in your room do you players in the event pay time after out of the event or can they bang balls around if a table is available?

Thanks

We charge a greens fee for all of our tourneys. Usually $5-$10 depending on the entry fee. But we pay all of our greens fees back as added money for opur tourneys, but thats just us. If they pay the entry fee they can practice while in the tourney if the y get knocked out and wanna gamble the pay time. Thats how we do it ;)

As you know Bora, I am not a room owner, but thought I would drop my two cents anyway.....it is always a great bonus to not have to pay to play after being knocked out of an event since most receive green fees, however, if it is required, I do not mind as much because it supports the room that had the event to begin with.......

I also do it the same way, when it is all said done, I have never made any money tournaments anyway, and I have never expected too. In my opinion hosting a tournament is a way to give something back to your customers for their patronage.

Have a good night!!!

Tournament table time

It depends. I have 2 rooms. At one location, I don't serve alcohol, have a small snack bar and pro-shop. There I charge a greens fee. I usually allow 1 hour before the tourney for warm-up. After the tourney, if you still want to play, you go on the clock.

At my other location, we do have alcohol, and a full menu. I don't charge greens fees for tourneys. I'm counting on food and drink for revenue. Same rule applies after your out of the tourney. If you want to continue playing, you go on the clock.
