Tables for the home?

I'm about to move into a new house that has room for an 8' table. I've been looking through all the usual places for a used table, but I'm not always sure what I'm looking at.

Are there any models of Brunswick or Olhausen I should be looking for? Any to stay away from?

Also, are there any table mechanics in the Pittsburgh area that are highly thought of?

I'm not a mechanic so I don't have deep expertise re: individual table models.

Having said that, I doubt that either Brunswick or Olhausen build any duds so you're probably pretty safe with any model from either company.

I think your more important question is who is the best mechanic in your area because poor set up can render even the best tables as junk from a playability point of view.

actually, Brunswick has some duds. Make sure they have the larger cushions and solid wood rails, as for Olhausen there all pretty good.

And if it feels like a sticker on the outside, with plywood or particle board on the inside, thin non backed slate, considerate it kindling.
Or if you can pick it up with one hand. (Two without much effort is still too cheap)
If you find anything that is hardwoor all the way around from either company you're not in too bad of shape.
You can look in the Mechanics directory here for a mechanic in your area.
Big Trucks Diamond package doesn't sound too bad either!
